Why isn't the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" be available for free on the internet? Utube?

If the data indicated in the movie is true, I would think this is an urgent matter for the survival of mankind. Why isn't more drastic methods used to rise the consciousness of the public? Shouldn't this be distributed for free on the internet? It is cost effective and can certainly reach a wide audience all over the world. I am sure that this will bring in much more money for the cause than what is received from the tickets and royalties. Only that the money may not be directed to the people who produces the movie. Can Utube work on making this happen? I am sure this will be a drastic boost to their popularity.

Why isn't the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" be available for free on the internet? Utube?
Here it is in a nutshell. The inconvenient truth is that the only thing adding to 'global warming' is all the HOT AIR Al Gore is spewing!

That was free!
Reply:because its a hollywood made movie. they dont make movies for free.
Reply:The data is true:

"The Associated Press contacted more than 100 top climate researchers and questioned them about the film's veracity. Because this was at the time before the film's general release many of those surveyed had neither seen the movie nor read the book, but all 19 climate scientists who had done so said that Gore conveyed the science correctly"

But maybe instead of making the movie free, people should read the news. I have seen plenty of articles discussing the issue before the movie came out. But people just don't want to hear it.
Reply:Because it is hollywood fiction, and them cheap SOBs want every penny they can suck out of your wallet.
Reply:Hey, can't Al Gore make a little money here? This is his job now. Why would he want to give it away for free when millions will pay to see it? This is all about money.
Reply:My guess is that no one is really intersted in the movie much. You can bet if it were a naked sex tape of Brittany Spears it'd be available everywhere for free.
Reply:It cost money to make, so I suppose they're trying to make that back. Also, I think some of the sales are going to environmental causes.
