Yes, it's true.





1)There was that dumb anti-Ataturk video posted by some Greek guy;


2) some nationalist Turks uploaded an equally stupid video;


3) daily newspapers Hurriyet, Sabah and Milliyet did their part to blow the thing out of proportion;


4) and Turk Telekom, the country's main internet provider, blocked YouTube.





And now you know the rest of the story.

It is a sad state of affairs when a state poses censorship for whatever reason. Especially a state that wants to be call democratic.





What's with the Ataturk worship in Turkey? Everywhere you go anywhere you look Ataturk this Ataturk that. Stamps, notes, posters, flags, pictures everywhere... Can someone explain that to me? Are there no other great persons in Turkey?


You call him gay and you go to prison!! What’s up with that? I thought that Turkey is a secular (at most Islamic country) but it seems to me that Ataturk is worshiped as a god.

Reply:many turkish people has sent protesting mails to youtube, for a few days, that silly video still has not been deleted; then; with an award by turkish courts, access from turkiye to youtube was blocked, and after this event, youtube apologized from turkish authorizations and deleted that silly video.





why didnt they delete the video before this blocking event? i think youtube should suffer its punishment by losing from their advertisement income now.
