It looks like the abrams may have a rocket/ missile armament of a cobra helicopter mounted on the side of the turret, i was quite curious to know what they are firing, looked to be powered off hydraulics%26gt;
I was watching this video on Utube of this abrams in iraq apparantly armed with some sort of rocket system?
You must have seen a Bradley vehicle. It has a TOW missle launcher located on the turret that is a hydraulic powered box containing four missles.
The Abrams does not carry missles, it doesn't need to.
Reply:Are you SURE it was a M-1? The Bradley has a TOW missile system mounted to the side of it's turret. All the M-1 has is smoke grenade launchers.
Reply:Those are smoke grenades. It fires them off and they detonate a few meters in the air above the tank. It is used to hide.
